For the past several years during my time overseas I have sent mass email updates. Occasionally people would recommend that I blog instead of emails and for various reasons it took me a while to try blogging (although if you've tried to follow this blog you've noticed there hasn't been much blogging to follow). Upon returning to the states, I wanted to take a break both from blogging and from update emails. One thing that is hard about living in China is that as a person with light skin and blonde hair I stand out and am always being watched (a friend compared this to a giraffe being watched at a zoo). Blogging and emails seemed to magnify this as I felt not only stared at physically but also with my thoughts/experiences that I was sharing.
That being said, I enjoy sitting down and writing a good blog/email, and the occasional response or comment is always fun too. So, I guess I'm going to try to actually start blogging consistently. A friend's blog recently considered if blogging is a redemptive use of time. My hope is that as I process my thoughts and experiences in writing it will help me and anyone who reads it learn about the world God created, the need for a savior, and the ways God is working in me, through me, and around me to bring redemption.
WOW!!!!! What a story! cool blog, luv ya Sarah. From lulu.
