I will bring praise

I will bring praise
I will bring praise
no weapon formed against me shall be raised
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

This chorus (from an awesome song we've sung a bunch in church lately) ran through my head almost continuously during my 45 mile bike ride. There are so many things that can easily rise against you when you're on a multi-hour hilly ride both physically and mentally, and it was so powerful to just constantly remind myself that I have victory through Christ.

and I would find myself saying "i will bring praise" whenever I would approach a hill and think to myself "these hills are what is best helping me prepare for my race". and i really found myself being thankful for the hills because of how important they are to my training. I found myself relating this so much to spiritual life and walk with Christ. Often things that are hard are things that are best able to help us prepare for the future.

and in a final note... one thing I forgot to mention from the sprint triathlon i did last saturday... about 5 miles into the bike ride i was heading up a hill and there was a little girl (probably 3 or 4 yrs old) standing in her front yard along where we were riding yelling and cheering for us saying, "just keep peddling, just keep peddling". Her inflection was priceless, and it was pretty much the best encouragement ever.
