We did a family celebration the weekend before my actual bday because that's when everyone was in town. We spent some family time playing bridge (the card game), then ate lasagna for lunch (well, three of us did- my sister is a vegetarian and allergic to cheese, so my pick of meat lasagna wasn't her cup of tea). Then we played ping pong as a family. This was a big deal because my mom and I have been working in the basement all semester going through boxes, clearing things out, etc. with the goal of being able to use the ping pong table again. This was the first day we had played on our table in probably 10+ yrs. We had cheesecake for dessert. It wasn't until after my mom had cut and served the pieces that I said, "what, I don't get to blow out any candles?" So we put candles on the other half and i got the traditional song and blowing moment.
